“Doing 100”
One of the phrases my Dad used a lot toward the end of his life was, “Doing a hundred.” I’d ask how he was feeling, and he’d quip, “I’m doing a hundred.” My brother reminded me that Dad would do that sort of thing often - make up a saying. I guess dads do that.
Jesus talked about doing a hundred in the parable of the sower:
“Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” - Luke 8:8
At Excel Leadership Network, I propose the vision that starting January 1, 2021, we do a hundred. Let’s sign a hundred church planters!
We’re not putting a deadline on it. It won’t be time-based or time bound. It may take us more than a year or eighteen months or two years or... But, we’re doing a hundred!
That vision is getting traction! One of my coaches, Tom Nebel, suggested I ask a hundred people to give a hundred dollars per month to fund the “doing a hundred vision.” Tom mentioned that if I asked him, he would give a hundred a month.
I asked him…And I’m asking you!
